Got a little side tracked yesterday and wasn’t able to post my pictures. I managed to catch an American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis) at our feeder though the screen in the window makes for a very soft looking picture. I’ve been seeing these clusters of insect eggs and managed to figure out that they are from Wheel Bugs (Arilus cristatus), which are good at eating other insect pests. Also we have a small lilac (Syringa sp?) bush that seems to only have a few blossoms at a time. Interestingly lilacs are in the olive family Oleaceae.
